This past week we made self-portraits and write a paragraph about ourselves using the Step-up-to-Writing model.

Off to a great start!

     In the past few weeks, 2nd grade has kicked off the school year with a lot of fun activities and lessons.  In Science, we are currently learning about technology.  The students really love using the SmartBoard for the digital lessons!
    We are also learning about our nation's government, which will lay some groundwork for the elections in November.
     We are also studying the life of Moses in religion. 
     Cha, Cha, cha!  Finally, we are exploring the world of Spanish this year.  So far, our class has mastered the Spanish words for colors and months.  At this time we are learning the days of the week.

I am gearing up for a new school year!  We have a few new changes.  I am no longer teaching K - 3 music this year as Mr. Paul Walter will teach music to these grades.  I am also moving to a different classroom so I will be in the first classroom on the righthand side of the hall.  I'm looking forward to another great school year!
