…SECOND GRADE FARMERS…

We are learning about the life cycles of seeds and plants in science class.  Our class is doing the classic lima bean growing experiment.  Initially we placed lima beans in a baggy with a moist paper towel and left them in a warm area.  After a few days we checked the progress of the beans and found that most of them had germinated  by day 5.  By day 10 they had strong roots and were ready to plant.  Between day 10 - 16, they plants emerged and students were able to measure their growth.  Our experiment lasted 30 days.

iSee iPads!

This week our class used the school iPads during a lesson about geoboards.  We were able to use an iPad app that mimics a geoboard, but without rubber bands snapping or sailing across the room! What a great educational tool!
